Why Learn a Biblical Language?
- Feel the Heartbeat of God: Experiencing Scripture in the original languages connects you with God’s love.
- Lifetime of Spiritual Growth: Each verse and chapter becomes a deeper well to draw from, enriching your faith.
- Fresh Insights: Regular “aha” moments will give you new perspectives.
- Themes and Nuances: Discover subtle themes and theological nuances, like the use of the prefix “pro-” in Ephesians 1, which reveal Godās intentionality in loving and choosing us.
- Sit Beside the Authors: Feel as though you are with Paul in a damp prison cell when reading the prison epistles.
- Independence from Translations: Understand the texts for yourself while appreciating the translation (and interpretation) choices made by various versions.
- Start a Virtuous Cycle: Your growing understanding and engagement will motivate improvement in your skills.
- Better Able to Apply: With a crisper understanding of the Word, you’ll be better able to put it into practice.

What is Our Secret Sauce?
- Rapid Comprehension: We want you to understand a text within your first ten hours. You will learn the most critical skills that will allow you to achieve this goal. Most introductory courses require 50 to 100 hours before understanding a text.
- Lasting Application: This course is designed to motivate you to engage more and more Scripture in an original language long after the course is completed. Most seminary language courses have a 50-80% attrition rate (no longer using the target language) after one year.
- Meaningful Text v. Details: We focus on learning complete units of text (a sentence) instead of grammar details (e.g. parsing verbs). Our brains learn languages best through exposure and pattern recognition. The more you are exposed to complete, meaningful sections of text, the more you will understand and be motivated to continue.
- Context-Based Learning: You will learn words in context instead of memorizing lists.
